Useful information
Banking service
The official currency in The Netherlands is the Euro (€). Foreign currencies can be exchanged to Euros at banks, which are usually open from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00 hours. Cash dispensers are located inside the congress centre and at the airport and railway stations.
Climate
The weather in Amsterdam in June/July is usually mild to warm. The average temperature is around 19-25°C. However, a raincoat or umbrella for occasional showers may be useful.
EACCME Accreditation
ISTH 2013 will be accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME). More information will follow.

Electricity supply
Electricity in The Netherlands is supplied at 230V – 50Hz AC. The plugs have 2 round pins similar to those in many European countries.
Visa requirements To assist you in obtaining a visa or travel fund, you can initiate a letter of invitation while registering yourself for the congress.

Please note that the process of visa requests might take considerable time at consulates and embassies. ISTH advises you to download the letter of invitation at your earliest convenience. This letter is not a commitment on the part of ISTH to provide any financial support.

Programme changes
ISTH cannot assume liability for any changes in the programme due to external or unforeseen circumstances. Programme changes will be announced on screens throughout the Amsterdam RAI.
Lunches
Lunch is provided during the scientific and educational programme of the congress and lunch tickets will be available in the registration package. The tickets are valid on Saturday 29 June, Monday, July 1 – Thursday, July 4.
Public transport
Amsterdam offers an extensive travel network using metro, tram and bus. The complimentary public transport card included in the registration fee allows free use of public transport in the city. The card is valid from your day of arrival until the day of your departure (with a maximum of 4 days).
Please note: that the public transport ticket is not valid on the trains and buses of transport companies other than GVB.

Insurance and liability
It is recommended that participants obtain adequate cover for travel, health and accident insurance before they depart from their countries. MCI Amsterdam as the Congress planner, ISTH and committee members and officers of ISTH 2013 claim no liability for the act of any supplier to this meeting, nor liability for: personal injury, the safety of any attendee while in transit to or from this event, for any loss or damage, for delays in transport by air, sea, rail, road, weather, in case of strikes, sickness, war or other causes.
